WX11 CAV This Iveco truck has been converted into an ambulance Incident Support Unit. The rear pod can be demounted onto the ground and left.

KS04 BJY A Chrysler Voyager that is operated by Medics Plus. It carries no emergency warning equipment and has a simple livery.

AY51 EOR This Mercedes Benz Sprinter ambulance is operated by Yormed, a private ambulance service.

H228 AHS This Iveco truck is used to carry support equipment for the British Red Cross.

R184 OCW This Mercedes Vario van has been converted into an ambulance vehicle. The vehicle’s operators are unknown but it was spotted in Fort William. Soon after these shots were taken, the amber and blue lighting was removed.

X343 AAD This dark green Daewoo Musso is used by St John Ambulance in the Herefordshire arera. It is one of three such vehicles.

B405 VDE This Ford Transit from 1984 has been converted into an off-road rescue unit ambulance.

PX05 AHG This Renault Master is part of Patient Transport (UK) Ltd. and isn’t an NHS ambulance. It has blue lights fitted for occasional emergency work. Notice the unusually spaced out registration plate.

KX04 XZL This Vauxhall Movano is part of the North of England Ambulance Service. This is a standard emergency ambulance that will respond to 999 calls to assist the NHS.

Y999 MTB This Fiat Ducato was manufactured in 2002. This is not an NHS Ambulance: it is one that is used by Rescue Medics which is a private organisation. This Vehicle is complete with all the ambulance markings and also has blue lights.

ALE 15A Medical Solutions use this Vauxhall Monteray for 4×4 medical cover at events.

DOC 700R Medical Solutions use this Ford Galaxy for medical cover at events. The registration plate reads like DOCTOR.

L35 LEE Medical Solutions use this Vauxhall Monteray for 4×4 medical cover at events.

MED 111C Medical Solutions use this Mercedes Viano for event emergency medical cover. The registration plate reads like MEDIC.

V999 CCT This Vauxhall ambulance conversion is operated by a company called Critical Care Transfers.

YX10 GZB Abacus Ambulance Service have this 2010 Renault Master primarily for non-emergency patient transportation work.

DK11 DCV A North Western Ambulance Service Mercedes Sprinter ambulance on an emergency call.

LB 99 AA This army Land Rover ambulance is shown with the two blue beacons on the roof covered. These vehicles used to routinely be used with the blue lights uncovered, but the policy is now to have them covered unless they are in use.

J428 MTJ This Ford F350 conversion is used by Proteck Safety. This vehicle has a great number of blue flashing lights around the bodywork, as well as some ambers, whites, red (on the rear) and a green beacon on the cab roof.

YJ59 OPG This blue Land Rover Defender is operated by the Yorkshire Ambulance Service. It carries a simple stripe of battenburg down the sides and a yellow bonnet. Blue flashing LED lights are fitted to the grille and a small blue beacon is on the roof.

LX11 AFE This Volvo XC70 is a 4×4 rapid response car that was new to London Ambulance Service in summer 2011. Notice the four flashing lights fitted into the grille.

LJ04 YLX is a Vauxhall Movano that is used by London Ambulance as a Tender Vehicle. It is fitted with blue lights, carries a basic LAS livery and ius used to transport equipment.

D655 DRP This is a 1987 Leyland Redline bus that has been converted into a mobile treatment centre for St. John. It has the same livery as the Crusader ambulances and has two blue light bars on the roof. It was still operational in 2011.

WX10 HXO A Mercedes Sprinter ambulance. This is one of a fleet of vehicles introduced in 2010-11 that were to replace ageing vehicles in Cornwall. This ambulance is operated by the South Western Ambulance Service and seen here at Helston Ambulance Station.

MX04 FVW This Ex-Northwest Ambulance vehicle is now operated by AM Medical Services (South) Ltd., a private service who work in the Wiltshire and Gloucestershire areas.

This Motorcycle is used by Severn Ambulance and Medical Services (SAMS), a volunteer group who operate in the West Country. Its call sign is SA004, SAMS often undertake medical cover in hard to reach places so this bike is ideal for this purpose.

This is a Toyota 4×4 response vehicle used for covering events off road.

H3 LPW This Isuzu Trooper 4×4 is a standard ambulance response vehicle used mainly for covering events off road. This type of response vehicle does not generally carry patients but gets quickly to their aid. The registration is spaced so it reads like “Help”.



The private ambulance is seen here towing a quad bike that has blue lights and sirens and can be used for covering events and going through muddy fields.
