R184 OCW This Mercedes Vario van has been converted into an ambulance vehicle. The vehicle’s operators are unknown but it was spotted in Fort William. Soon after these shots were taken, the amber and blue lighting was removed.

X343 AAD This dark green Daewoo Musso is used by St John Ambulance in the Herefordshire arera. It is one of three such vehicles.

B405 VDE This Ford Transit from 1984 has been converted into an off-road rescue unit ambulance.

PX05 AHG This Renault Master is part of Patient Transport (UK) Ltd. and isn’t an NHS ambulance. It has blue lights fitted for occasional emergency work. Notice the unusually spaced out registration plate.

Y999 MTB This Fiat Ducato was manufactured in 2002. This is not an NHS Ambulance: it is one that is used by Rescue Medics which is a private organisation. This Vehicle is complete with all the ambulance markings and also has blue lights.

LB 99 AA This army Land Rover ambulance is shown with the two blue beacons on the roof covered. These vehicles used to routinely be used with the blue lights uncovered, but the policy is now to have them covered unless they are in use.

J428 MTJ This Ford F350 conversion is used by Proteck Safety. This vehicle has a great number of blue flashing lights around the bodywork, as well as some ambers, whites, red (on the rear) and a green beacon on the cab roof.

YJ59 OPG This blue Land Rover Defender is operated by the Yorkshire Ambulance Service. It carries a simple stripe of battenburg down the sides and a yellow bonnet. Blue flashing LED lights are fitted to the grille and a small blue beacon is on the roof.
