This is a Mercedes Benz Atego Red Cross emergency control unit. Notice the number of colours used for lighting on the roof: blue, green, white and amber.

The Liskeard Division of St. John Ambulance in Cornwall operate this Land Rover support unit towing a large first aid trailer.

SF55 HBO is a Renault Megane Scenic ambulance response car that is operated by the Scottish Ambulance Service.

AJ58 TKY is a Volvo XC70 that is used an an ambulance rapid response car. Notice the clear LED light bar, and the repeater LEDs set into the grille and on the front wings.

BX58 XLW and BX58 XKY are two Volvo V70s owned by Evolved Medical in Bristol. They are used by paramedics to undertake rapid response work on behalf of Great Western Ambulance Service.

SN08 KVU This white Ford Transit is used as a driver training vehicle by the Scottish Ambulance Service

AE54 HXW This is a Santana PS10 2.8 turbo diesel, operated by the Windle Valley Division of St. John in Surrey . Santanas are basically Land Rovers built under licence in Spain .

OIL 7884 is a Mercedes 412D Wilker Lunar Ambulance. It is operated by St. John Ambulance’s Bangor Division. It is used as both a frontline emergency ambulance as well as for patient transfers.

V381 GBU This is a Fiat Marea Weekend in blue that is used as an ambulance car by Event Medical Solutions. It has the standard ambulance-colour checker markings down the sides and a magnetically-mounted double blue light on the roof.

AY58 EFK This is a St. John Ambulance Treatment Centre. It is often deployed where large numbers of people gather, to reduce the pressure on local accident and emergency departments. It is converted from a long wheelbase Citroen Relay truck.

LR58 TPF This Ford Transit Connect is used by the British Red Cross for emergency support work. It has a full-width led light bar on the roof and two small rear-ward facing flashing leds mounted above the rear doors.

T5 XPC is a privately owned ambulance car. Notice that four flashing leds have been fitted behind the grille in addition to the other blue lights.

MT02 YSU This Orange BMW is in service with North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust as a paramedic rapid response car. It is unusual to have an orange base colour, but due to the amount of colour added on top of this it is less noticeable.

YJ08 MZY is one of a pair of smart silver Volvo V50s were spotted in Lincoln. Notice how the light bar has been attached to the roof rails. This helps avoid damaging the bodywork and could increase the re-sale value of the car when the ambulance service dispose of it.

CX07 DDA is a Welsh Ambulance Service Ford Focus rapid response car. In the background you can see a full-sized emergency response ambulance.

LX08 AFZ This is a Citroen Relay that is in service with M&L Ambulance Service in the London area. It is the extra-long wheelbase model powered by a diesel engine.

GN57 NBD M&L also operate this LDV Maxus as an ambulance support unit. It also carries the company’s green diagonal stripe livery on the bonnet.

BT57 UWJ is a Nissan Navara operated by the British Red Cross. It has an unusual combination of amber lights on the roof but small blue flashing lights lower down the bodywork.

DK05 GTZ and DK05 FXV The Renault Master on the left is a High Dependency vehicle operated by the Welsh Ambulance Service. On the right is a very similar standard front-line vehicle which is fitted with blue flashing lights. Also notice both vehicle carry a mix of English and Welsh wording, ‘Ambulance’ and ‘Ambiwlans’.

This Cheverolet is operated by Heathrow Air Ambulance. This private company specialise in cross-border medical transfers.

X748 DFJ This Renault Laguna is used by Lifeskills Emergency Medical Services.

HJZ 9991 is a Vauxhall Omega that is operated by Medical Response Services. The inset shows the rear of the light bar, the only place where the company name appears.

HJZ 9991 is a Daewoo Nubira estate in ambulance livery operated by the same company. Its registration plate has been transferred to the Omega above.

P573 LAR is a Ford Galaxy that is used by St. John Ambulance in Cornwall for support work.

MW07 LOA This is a VW Transporter T30 LWB that is operated as an event support unit by Medics UK.

GN57 MYG This LDV Maxus is operated by Thames Ambulance Service. It carries a simple green and white checker-band livery. Thames is a private company that was set up by two ex-ambulancemen in the 1990s and is based at Canvey Island, Essex.

Y462 HEC is a Vauxhall Omega ambulance car which is in service with the North West Ambulance Service at Barnoldswick. It is used as a driver training vehicle.

R649 ULT This 1998 Ford Maverick is used by a private events ambulance service to provide medical cover.

VX08 CNA and VX08 CMV are a pair of identical Mercedes Benz / UVM ambulances that are in service with Great Western Ambulance Service.
