PLZ 3048 This dark-coloured Volvo S80 2.9SE is used as a rapid response ambulance by the independent Glasgow-based Strathclyde Ambulance Services Transplant Transport. Notice that the car has an official-looking ambulance service roundel on the bonnet. Unusually they don’t have any web presence, expect for being a registered company. Here are a Mercedes Sprinter and a Toyota Landcruiser from Northern Ireland Ambulance Service’s fleet. The 4×4 is fitted with a roof box for extra storage as well as two full-width light bars. It is also fitted with a winch and can carry a patient lying on a spinal board inside.

This is a St. John Ambulance first aid treatment centre. The Avon branch use this at large events to treat patients with minor medical issues. This reduces the demand on emergency ambulances and hospitals. You can see an access ramp at the rear and additional space in the adjacent SJA tent.
