SA07 OPH is a Peugeot 307CC. It is seen here with a magnetic London Ambulance Service sign and light bar attached to it. Since this car has an electronically controlled folding metal roof a conventional light bar could not be fitted.
BU04 HVE This Mercedes Sprinter is a specialist children’s intensive care ambulance. The service is operate by CATS – the Children’s Acute Transport Service, which is a division of the St. John Ambulance, in conjunction with the NHS.
YB06 JCU This Nissan Navara belongs to Lifeskills Rescue & Emergency Medical Services. It has a full-width light bar attached to the roof rails and standard ambulance battenburg colour scheme.
YJ57 TLV is a Vauxhall Zafira 1.9 CDTI built by Wilker. The car has racking in the rear for medical equipment and is fitted with a super-slim LED light bar. The car came into service in November 2007 to replace a Volvo S40.
BJ03 CZT used to be a Premier Hazard (light bar manufacturer) demo car. It is seen here decked out as a private ambulance car with CT Patient Transport.
YX07 GXW MediForce operate this beefy Nissan Pathfinder Trek 4×4. It carrier full ambulance battenburg markings and twin led light bars.
L267 NOS is a 1993 Subaru Impreza GL. It is used as a paramedic car at events. It is seen alongside a Land Rover also with Cam Rescue.
KE56 AKY This Iveco ambulance is used by South Central Ambulance Service. Notice how the light bar on the roof is forward-facing only.

X881 ARD and X883 ARD are both ambulances with Buckinghamshire-based Inter-County Ambulance Service. Built in 2000, they are converted Fiat Ducato Maxis.
AE05 HBH This yellow Renault Master ambulance is with Wiltshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust.
RA56 GTU is a 2007 Honda CR-V ambulance car. In this photograph it is on trial as it has not yet been decked out with a specific service’s livery.
SC54 ZXL This Vauxhall Vectra ambulance car is with Shropshire Ambulance Service. The ‘ambulance’ wording on the light bar is illuminated, useful at night for identifying the car.
X42 SOJ West Midlands Ambulance Service used to operate this 2000-registered Renault Master with UVG bodywork.
AE55 WGM An updated model of the Renault Master can be seen here carrying Shropshire’s colourscheme.
This Renault Clio van has been converted to a front line ambulance car for Coventry & Warwickshire’s use. It is a 2004 model and is used as a Clinical Supervisor vehicle.
FX07 CCK This is a British Red Cross VW Transporter ambulance. It has two blue light bars on the roof which each contain two strobes and two halogen flashing lights.

PLZ 3048 This dark-coloured Volvo S80 2.9SE is used as a rapid response ambulance by the independent Glasgow-based Strathclyde Ambulance Services Transplant Transport. Notice that the car has an official-looking ambulance service roundel on the bonnet. Unusually they don’t have any web presence, expect for being a registered company. FX05 WBZ is a St. John Ambulance Mercedes-Benz Vito. It is used as an operational support unit by the Lincoln & District section. Notice the small double blue light attached to the roof rails.
KX56 UVG This is a 2006-registration West Midlands Ambulance.
Here are a Mercedes Sprinter and a Toyota Landcruiser from Northern Ireland Ambulance Service’s fleet. The 4×4 is fitted with a roof box for extra storage as well as two full-width light bars. It is also fitted with a winch and can carry a patient lying on a spinal board inside.
V748 JLC This looks like a police car at a distance, but is actually an ambulance car. The Renault Laguna estate is used by PHS Ambulance Service.

P882 JOK This Ford Transit ambulance conversion is also used by PHS Ambulance Service. You can see their logo on the side, looking very similar to the NHS logo. The ambulance is ex-All Wales Ambulance Services.
W949 OAL This Ford Escort estate is used by community first responders with Staffordshire Ambulance Service. You can see that it is decked out as an ambulance car but is not fitted with any visual or audible emergency warning equipment.

This low-power motor scooter is used by the Yorkshire Rose Ambulance Service. It is fitted with a large rotating blue light and plastered with ambulance stickers.
H477 AAS is a 1990 Ford Transit that is used by the British Red Cross. Notice the amber light for airside use and the twin air horns on the roof.
This is a St. John Ambulance first aid treatment centre. The Avon branch use this at large events to treat patients with minor medical issues. This reduces the demand on emergency ambulances and hospitals. You can see an access ramp at the rear and additional space in the adjacent SJA tent.
This is the 2007 shape Volvo V70 in ambulance markings. Notice the clear led light bar mounted high on the roof rails and the large repeater lights on the front grille.
FX56 HNF This Mercedes-Benz Vito has been converted into a Community Response Unit to be used by East Midlands Ambulance Service.
NJ05 TNF is a North East Ambulance Service Ford Focus estate. Notice how this rapid response car has a yellow bonnet, full height battenburg markings and a low profile led light bar.
