EF07 MKO This is a Ford Ranger that is used by New Spitalfield Market Constabulary. It has a simple red stripe down the side and an amber light bar. It is the only car used by the constabulary that is part of the City of London Corporation.





The rear view. Notice how the amber light cannot be seen from the rear when the car is being driven around the grounds of the large fruit and veg market. They deal with matters including stopping illegal immigrants and providing emergency medical assistance.





Inside the Truckman rear are wheel clamps, road cones and granules to soak up diesel spills.

P838 HMC Billingsgate Market Constabulary uses this Vauxhall Astra estate. It has a yellow stripe down each side and constabulary markings. It is the only vehicle they have to get around the fish market site.

A constable of Smithfield Market’s London Central Markets Constabulary poses by the entrance to their office. The constabulary do not operate any vehicles as they can easily walk around the meat market. The constabulary falls under the City of London Corporation.

A Beadle of Burlington Arcade poses in a shop entrance wearing the traditional uniform of top hat and waistcoat. The Beadles are there to enforce the rules of the arcade and have been doing so since its opening in 1819.

Rules include no whistling, no running and no carrying of large items. They claim to be the smallest private police force in existence with four beadles.

EA06 OUX This is a Suzuki DRZ 400 SK5 trials bike that is used by the London Borough of Redbridge Parks Police Service. It is not fitted with any emergency warning equipment.



The rear view. The bike is a 400cc model and was new when the police service was formed in 2006.

EN06 CYG This silver Ford Transit is used by Redbridge Parks Police. It carries a simple blue chequered pattern down the sides and “Parks Police” wording.

A close up look at the light bar. Blue and amber lights can be switched on independently. The service are not trained to use blue flashing lights when on the public highway and the van is not fitted with a siren.

In this action scene the Transit is seen in use alongside a Parks Police 4×4 to assist the ambulance service in transferring a patient from an ambulance to London’s air ambulance.

OY59 KXF This Seat Altea is here being used as a rural policing vehicle in Nottinghamshire. It is a 1.9 litre turbo diesel model.



The rear view. The small sticker indicates that the vehicle has been converted by a company called EVO (Emergency Vehicle Options) who own this demonstrator.



An unusual detail about this vehicle is the rear has been converted for detainee transportation. Solid plastic seats and a perspex shield are just some of the alterations made. The car is often used to transport detainees long distances to the nearest custody suite.
