WX03 NZY is a yellow Mercedes Vito that is being used by Avon and Somerset Police. It is a dedicated CCTV unit, hence the wording and the camera in the black pod sticking out of the roof. The writing down the side saying ‘caught on camera’ seems accusing and is written in an unusual font for a police vehicle, Comic Sans.

YH03 ZRK is a Vauxhall Movano LWB van that is being used on high visibility ANPR (automatic number plate recognition) duties. The van carries very little livery and no ‘police’ signs. It is used to check the number plate of every passing vehicle. If a vehicle of interest passes, a team of police officers on bikes and in cars can join the road and stop them. One such Volvo S70 can be seen flanking the van to the left.

AD56 CGE This silver Ford Focus is a Ford demonstrator vehicle. Here you can see the wig-wag setting on the headlamps and fog lamps operating in conjunction with the blue lights. By flashing the main beam on one headlamp then the other repeatedly, the vehicle can attract attention at a much greater distance than blue lights alone.
