This is a 57 registration Ford Ranger belonging to North Yorkshire Police. Notice the two large light bars on the roof, needed because one light bar could not easily be seen from the front and back at the same time.
YF56 ZTD is a BMW Z4 M. This car is used for publicity work and is not operational.
PG04 WPK This is a North Yorkshire Police Skoda Octavia VRS. The silver car is primarily used for road policing duties.

GMN 988H The police on the Isle of Man operate this Honda ST1300 motorbike in full blue-yellow battenburg markings.
HX55 AEF is one of a number of Ford Fiestas that Hampshire Police operate in the South of England.
X523 JUK This is a Land Rover Discovery TD5 that is used by Lincolnshire Police’s wildlife crime officers. It allows the officers to access remote land where crimes such as badger baiting, dog fighting, illegal trapping and egg stealing can happen.
PX55 DDA, PX55 DCZ and PX55 DCF are three identical Ford Focuses are used by Cumbria Police. They are all fitted with a Vector v-shaped light bar as well as the force’s standard colour scheme.

NX56 BFA This is an example of one of Cleveland Police’s VW Transporter collision investigation vans. You can see that on the roof are two light bars and a fold-down floodlight.
HMN-292-Y This dark blue Ford S-Max is in service with police on the Isle of Man.
V440 JMY this Isuzu NQR recovery truck is used by the Metropolitan Police in Central London to tow away vehicle which may be causing an on obstruction. It is powered by a 4.8 litre turbo diesel engine.
LX04 NPF is a Citroen Relay based six wheeled mobile office used by the Metropolitan Police. The vehicle does not wear any blue lights but is equipped with two CCTV cameras and a pull out awning.
LX54 HZZ is a Mercedes Sprinter 316 CDi also use by the Metropolitan Police. It is fitted with a number of specialist communication aerials on its roof and also has a side awning.
EU07 OLA is a Subaru Impreza WRX STI that is used by Essex Police. The vehicle’s primary role is with the automatic number plate recognition intercept team. The aggressive looking rally-bred car also acts as a deterrent to would-be car thieves who think they can out run the police.

BU07 NFV is a Mercedes Sprinter van that has been converted into a personnel carrier for the Metropolitan Police. It is armoured to protect the occupants in dangerous situations, and has drawn comment for looking like an ambulance!
GX07 GJF is a police Lotus Exige Sport! This car is shown here in the workshops being prepared for public viewing. It carries Sussex Police’s crests and was used for six months over the summer of 2007 to promote road safety messages.
This unusual looking trailer is used by the police to illuminate a crime scene or road accident. A large telescopic pole is erected with floodlights on top.
RF07 VVA This is a Honda CBR 1000. It is used by Durham Constabulary to promote safer biking, but is also used on active duty, usually alongside a more traditional police motorbike. This rear view shows the flashing blue led mounted under the exhaust and the ‘police’ plate mounted from behind the registration.
This is a BMW from Durham Constabulary that is only used on the skidpan. It is an ex-front line vehicle that has had the roof light bar removed. It has tyres that are almost bald and are pumped up to a high pressure to help it skid on the oil/water mix.
SN56 DPE This is Vauxhall Vectra VXR is with Central Scotland Police. Notice the low profile light bar on the roof.
WX07 KFK This is a Ford Fiesta used by PCSOs in Avon & Somerset. It is primarily used to get officers to the start of their foot beat. This Fiesta is run by the Safer Neighbourhoods team. This is a Home Office initiative and the car is driven by both police officers and PCSOs. As for warning equipment this vehicle carries a magnetic blue beacon that is applied to the vehicle if stationary at an incident.
AU06 BYH is a Peugeot Expert police van which is used by Norfolk Constabulary. The small writing on the side is the non-emergency telephone number, web address and mission statement.
BU56 JFG This is a Metropolitan Police Mitsubishi Shogun. It has a 3.2-litre diesel engine with an automatic transmission.
OV07 WYH is an Audi A4 that is being used here as a demonstration police vehicle on active duty. Notice the low profile light bar on the roof and the very small blue lights on the front wings.
WX03 NZY is a yellow Mercedes Vito that is being used by Avon and Somerset Police. It is a dedicated CCTV unit, hence the wording and the camera in the black pod sticking out of the roof. The writing down the side saying ‘caught on camera’ seems accusing and is written in an unusual font for a police vehicle, Comic Sans.
YN07 BYP This is a South Yorkshire Police Volvo S60 T5. It is equipped with a Premier Hazard digital in-car video and a twin deck Premier Hazard LED lightbar.

This photograph shows a Northern Constabulary police officer on his Honda ST1100 motorbike. Notice that the officer has a blue portion on his high visibility jacket. This is sometimes used to denote that the officer is on special duties, such as policing a football match.
